Nothing contained herein is
intended to be an indictment of any particular airline, but
rather an indictment of a broken system. Foreign governments
dictate your safety standards to the FAA. In these tough times
airlines are trying to save a buck wherever they can. What
if the facility they choose to use hasn't seen an unannounced
FAA inspector... ever? What if the mechanic doesn't have
a license to work on planes and most of them don't? What
if the mechanic can't read English even though all of the
repair manuals are written in English? What if there are
no background checks, no drug tests, no alcohol tests? After all it's
cheaper...
If we wait until the FAA is
investigating a fatal crash, then we've waited too long...
